Send a Free E-Invoice in Minutes – Bilnex is Changing How Small Businesses Handle Invoicing

Even if a new business only needs to send a few invoices each month, the process can become surprisingly time-consuming. Excel formulas, formatting, saving PDFs, sending emails, reminders. And once an invoice template is finally ready, the next client demands an e-invoice instead.
These everyday challenges, faced by companies, now have a solution with our new platform Bilnex.
Created by Finbite, Bilnex is a free tool designed to make creating and sending invoices as simple and fast as possible, whether it’s a PDF or an e-invoice.
Bilnex – for whom and why?
Bilnex is built for smaller and early-stage businesses for whom many existing software solutions are too complex, too expensive, or simply designed for “big companies.” Creating invoices in Excel is inconvenient, and e-invoices aren’t even an option without a dedicated softwate.
The tool is intentionally simple. Signing up and setting up an account takes just a few minutes, and creating an invoice takes only a moment. Users can create and send both PDFs and e-invoices for free, the latter becoming more and more common.
Keir Veskiväli, who led the development of Bilnex, explains that Finbite’s experience provided a strong foundation and valuable insights into what small businesses actually need from invoicing solutions. “Finbite’s environment was created with larger businesses in mind. They were the first to truly benefit from invoice automation and e-invoicing. Along the way, we learned the pain points and opportunities within invoicing processes. That experience gave us a strong base to build a tool for smaller businesses – simpler, but still professional.”
Why is this especially important right now?
Digital invoicing is not new, but for some businesses, the accessibility and usability of existing software has made adoption difficult. Many solutions are too difficult and costly for small businesses. At the same time, Excel or Word do not support e-invoice formats.
“Due to the e-invoice legislation that came into effect in Estonia on July 1, 2025, we are now seeing many small businesses in situations where they must send e-invoices because their buyer requires it. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a simple and affordable solution for this. We see a strong need for a tool like Bilnex,” adds Veskiväli. According to him, small businesses deserve the same quality tools as large enterprises – just in a different format. “Speed, simplicity, and zero cost should not be the exception here, but the standard,” says Veskiväli.
What can Bilnex already do – and what’s next?
Bilnex allows businesses to create invoices and send them immediately to clients, either as PDFs by email or as e-invoices directly into accounting software. From setting up an account to sending the first invoice, the entire process takes just 3–5 minutes.

In addition to PDFs and e-invoices, upcoming features include support for international Peppol invoices and the ability to add payment links to sales invoices. A module for receiving purchase invoices – with self-learning digitization and accounting allocation – is also in development. Soon, the platform will even support submitting tax declarations and reports.
“Bilnex is built with the ambition to serve businesses worldwide. Estonia and the Baltics offer an excellent environment for piloting the service, but our long-term goal is to grow into a global solution,” says Veskiväli, describing Bilnex’s future plans.
All Bilnex features will remain free for users until the end of 2025. Starting in 2026, the service will continue to offer a free package for smaller-scale users with certain limitations. Detailed pricing will be published on the platform towards the end of the year.
