Peppol e-invoices: for Bilnex users and software developers

Peppol is a pan-European network through which companies can send and receive e-invoices in a uniform, structured format — faster and more secure than sending PDFs via email. More and more countries and sectors are moving towards making Peppol-based e-invoicing the norm rather than the exception.

Bilnex has it built in: you can send and receive invoices via the Peppol network directly from your account, without any additional fees or technical settings. You enter the invoice, specify the recipient, and send it out. The invoice arrives in the correct format, directly to the buyer's ERP.

This covers the needs of most of our users. But there is one area for whom “just sending and receiving” is not enough.

If you build your own software, rather than using existing software

If you are a developer building your own accounting, ERP or fintech platform, then “Peppol invoicing” means something different to you. You are not looking for a tool that will send invoices for you. Instead, you need infrastructure, on which to build your product. You need an Access Point that talks to the Peppol network on your behalf, in the background, via an API.

This is a completely different area from regular billing. And honestly, it's not our area either.

The solution is offered by Finbite, which operates under the same roof as us.

In addition to Bilnex, Finbite OÜ also develops Finbiteplaform, that offers Peppol Access Point API as a service. There is a ready-made interface for the software, through which you can send and receive e-invoices in the European Peppol network without having to become an operator yourself or go through a months-long certification process.

If you've been looking for a Peppol API because your own customers or products need it — then it's worth checking out what Finbite offers: Finbite Peppol API →

In summary

  • Do you simply need a solution for sending and receiving e-invoices (including Peppol) as a company? Bilnex does it for you, right now, for free.
  • Are you building software that requires Peppol connection via API? Look Finbite Peppol API interface.

Two different needs, two different solutions.
